A popular section of ADDitude Magazine is “Small Wins”. This section highlights everyday achievements that contribute to larger goals. These so-called small victories (although we know no victory is too small) can provide motivation, build momentum, and grow confidence. They are often seen as stepping stones that lead to bigger accomplishments, helping individuals remain focused and encouraged. Recognizing and celebrating small wins fosters a positive mindset and highlights progress, making challenges more manageable.
Check out some of our favorite “Small Wins”..:
- When facing the temptation to impulse buy, take a picture of the item, then wait a few days and see if you still desire it.
- In order to create positive pressure to motivate you to declutter, invite your friends over for a game night. Knowing you have company coming over can help push you to declutter, organize, and clean.
- Do you find yourself forgetting to text others back and then feel badly about it? According to Dr. Caroline Maguire, there is no need to feel this way and also no need for a long explanation. Simply be honest and say, “I sometimes forget to text back, but I’m working on it. I appreciate reminders!”
- Create a mantra for stressful times such as, “This is only temporary!”
- Want to incorporate more physical activity into your day but don’t know where to begin? Start by walking 10 minutes a day.
- Use a Time Timer to set time boundaries when you’re focusing on a task.
